Raining romantic comedies

The rain came down; it didn't fall from buckets or look anything like cats and dogs. However, it also did not resemble a pleasant mist or a fine drizzle. It just rained. I walked along with my umbrella at my side. It would have preferred to open up to its full height and majesty, but it was not to be. I was only 20 yards or so from my car, and it just didn't make sense to put forth the effort. That, and I was already wet from the fine mist and drizzle that had preceded the rain to that point.

I opened my car door and threw the umbrella behind the seat. I sat inside. I thought of her and Her. I started the car and turned on the heat and A/C so that the windows wouldn't fog up due to the precipitation. I turned the radio off. It always starts up to what it was last playing. I wondered what she was doing and what she was thinking. I wondered what She was doing and what She was thinking. I put the car in gear and drove home.

I laid back on the couch and laughed. That Will Smith sure is funny. I took a drink from my beer. I laughed some more. I like comedies. They make you laugh. But this was a romantic comedy, so I wanted to cry, too. Will Smith's character was betrayed by the girl he loved, although of course he didn't know that he loved her. But he did. Or something like that. In any case, it's called a romantic comedy because the “romantic” parts aren't very comical at all. So you want to cry at the senseless of it all. At least they still showed Kevin James once in awhile. He's hysterical. And he's fat. As we all know, fat people are funny, even in romantic comedies.

The movie ended and I turned the television off. I turned my stereo off. For some reason, my television no longer likes to play audio through the coax cable so I have to play all audio from my cable box through my stereo. I can go from the RCA cables to the television, but they only work as an alternate feed. So I could either watch television with no sound, listen with no picture, or watch television while listening to the sound through my stereo. The irony is that I've been shopping for a home theater system for the past month. Guess I better get on that a little more seriously.

The rain may have stopped, but I'm not sure. There were a few times tonight that I saw flashes of light. Usually in January I'd assume it was a car across the street. However, when I checked the weather forecast this morning they mentioned a possibility of thunderstorms, so there's that. There's also the fact that I witnessed the flashes come from multiple windows at once, which typically doesn't happen with a car turning around out front. But I was also drinking while watching a romantic comedy, so my word is hardly gospel.
