Posting Experiment Week 1 Recap

2016-06-08

A week down in my experiment of posting something daily. So, in the words of John Oliver, a quick recap of this week's main events!

First, I don't think I'll be doing a recap weekly; most likely just this one and then one after the month is up. No need to get too meta.

Overall, I posted three poems (two new, one previously unpublished), three freewrites/mini-short stories, and one bit of non-fiction. I debated about doing a photo album, but in the end held off. Similarly, I have a few longer-form ideas that I need to flesh out more before I post them. So, things won't change drastically content-wise through the rest of the month. (sorry?) If there's something you'd like to see me tackle, leave a comment (or otherwise get a hold of me) and I'll see what I can do. You never know what might provide a spark of inspiration.

In this day and age of a myriad of apps, feeds, meta-site rollups, and of course social sites, it can be hard to gauge readership (at least that I've found). Each post seems to get a handful of views, which is neither shocking or heartening. One hope of posting daily is to see if I can attract additional traffic. It's still early, so I'm hopeful.

And this post doesn't count. I'm still on the hook for doing something creative today.
